Morning Message 4/23/17

Friday morning, I was wondering how many things we Christians have through Christ.

So, I searched my bible software for the words ‘through Christ’.

I found four Scriptures:

Romans 2:14-16 (NASB)

14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, _ are a law to themselves,

15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,

16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men _ through Christ Jesus.

---------------------------------------------------

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NASB)

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies _ and God of all comfort,

4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

5 For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, _ so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.

--------------------------------------------

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 (NASB)

4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.

5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,

6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, _ but the Spirit gives life.
………………………………

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (NASB)

17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; _ behold, new things have come.

18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry _ of reconciliation,

The Bible sometimes refers to Jesus as ‘Him’.

So, I searched the words ‘through Him’, with a capital ‘H’.

I found 22 Scriptures telling us the things we have through Him.

John 1:3 (NASB)

3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being _ that has come into being.
………………………………………….

John 1:7 (NASB)

7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.
…………………………………….

.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household,

20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,

21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
……………………………………

Philippians 4:12-13 (NASB)

12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.

13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
…………………………………………..

Colossians 1:15-20 (NASB)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

19 For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

………………………

1 Peter 1:20-23 (NASB)

20 For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you

21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

The very first verse in the Bible is about what was done through Jesus Christ.

Without Jesus, the earth would still be formless and void, _ and darkness would be over the surface of the deep.

The very last verse of the Bible says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”

This whole bible is about what has been done through Jesus the Christ, _ The Only Begotten Son of the Living God.

• all things have been created through Him and for Him.

• and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

• & you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.

If you have not yet surrendered to Jesus; will you surrender to Him today?
